And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people

Zion, June 7, 2012
And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

(Old Testament | Isaiah 11:10)
Steven Montgomery Says:
with regards to John’s Concerns Linked in the monograph below
~May 6th 2012

AND there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

An excellent question John. Sometimes I also find myself slipping in these matters.
I remember though what President Spencer W. Kimball stated many years ago now:
“I find that when I get casual in my relationships with divinity and when it seems that no divine ear is listening and no divine voice is speaking, that I am far, far away. If I immerse myself in the scriptures the distance narrows and spirituality returns.”
I have certainly found this to be true. Whenever I find myself slipping, or getting too casual with spiritual things, I turn to the scriptures and ALWAYS, no matter how far away I seem to be, get spiritually in tune once again.”

Gazelem Remarks: ~Zion, June 6, 2012

We are in the latter-days, even at or past the eleventh hour. I need not to remind you of the parable of the ten virgins, which applies hereunto. Wherefore gird up your loins lest ye be found among the wicked.

Steven Montgomery, beloved brethren and friends, do not put out the fire of the spirit as old grandpa above.  I am saying it to move him to jealousy for his own soul and yours too. What can we do to make him, you and even I, if needs be, feel like Nephi and Paul? Do all you think that Nephi and Paul were wrecked or wretched, poor, blind and miserable as they claim?

I do believe that they felt like that for two reasons: First they did not forget their captivity and the trials they had in the wilderness. This kept them fired up in mighty prayer unto the LORD and always engaged in a good cause. As a result, their corrupt or mortal bodies got closer and closer to holiness and deity, which is not an easy thing to endure. It is like eating a most sweet and pleasant book and then, when it passes thru  it turns bitter in the belly. Of this it is written:

For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am!  who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

(New Testament | Romans 7:22 - 25)

Behold, my soul delighteth in the things of the Lord; and my heart pondereth continually upon the things which I have seen and heard. Nevertheless, notwithstanding the great goodness of the Lord, in showing me his great and marvelous works, my heart exclaimeth: O wretched man that I am!  Yea, my heart sorroweth because of my flesh; my soul grieveth because of mine iniquities. I am encompassed about, because of the temptations and the sins which do so easily beset me. And when I desire to rejoice, my heart groaneth because of my sins; nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted.

(Book of Mormon | 2 Nephi 4:16 - 19)

And it continues to be my humble opinion that the closer we get to God the more evident is the contrast between THE Lord’s Holiness and US or our mortal corruption and weaknesses.  It is because our iniquities are quickly reflected back in the light of Christ as with a mirror. Nephi felt naturally corrupt and/or dirty, not because he was wicked, but because being in the constant presence of God, the Holy Ghost and Angels, he paired himself and saw his mortal corruption, such as the prophet who saw God and felt that he would perish for he saw the LORD when he was of corrupt lips according to his own words.  And then the scripture tells that an angel came an angel with tongs and a coal from before the altar to purify his lips.

IN the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

Then said I, Woe is me!  for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?  Then said I, Here am I; send me. And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

Then said I, Lord, how long?  And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land. But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.

(Old Testament | Isaiah 6:1 - 13)

Therefore, as such, the prophet Nephi, having been close to God’s holiness even like unto Moses, it hurt him deeply. Had not he been a priest after the order of Melchizedek he would have withered or burned like meat in an oven. He only felt free from that miserable pain, when he built a temple and received his own washings and anointing and his own endowment. Before that, he was pretty much the incandescent IRON ROD or a walking temple and that made him feel wretched as Moses when he said something like, NOW I KNOW THAT MAN IS NOTHIG, A THING I NEVER BEFORE CONSIDERED or though possible.

This is why we renew our baptismal covenants often at church. But that is not enough, specially for us who are ordained priests. We also need to visit the door of the tabernacle in the temple of our God often to wash and sanctify ourselves and to also renew our priesthood, our endowment and sealing covenants, if we have received them.  Many finish their missions on earth early and they are subject to walk unprotected or even naked and that is when they are stripped from light and truth and some are even destroyed.

We need to do temple work often to renew our authority and power. Because, some or most abuse their priesthood authority amen, or may have indulged in unrighteous dominion at one point or another and not know it, that they may have been stripped from their power or authority or have said thru rasgression amen to their priesthood. This is why temples are built, so we are perfected by going there in order to grow up Christ like or grace by grace until the perfect day by labors of love for others that need them, without which we cannot be perfect. And at the same time, if we listen and see with spiritual eyes, we renew our duty to God and priesthood commitments when we go thru the whole nine yards or the entire process from baptism to washings, anointing, endowments and sealings at the mountain of the Lords’ house. Becasue the power of Godliness is made manifest thru the ordinaces of the everlasting gospel; and wihout them it is not made manifest and no man can see God and live.   Imagine if we were to go to the temple only once, how could we keep ourselves clean until the last day and then hope to stand inthe presence of GOD? Therefore we, as the seed of Eprhaim, need to get closer to deity and sanctify oursleves or be burned with celestial burnings from time to time at the holy temple of our God in order to cook oursleves from both sides and not remain half way cooked like the anciet ephraimites, or as a cake not turned.

Therefore, in the ordinances thereof, the power of godliness is manifest. And without the ordinances thereof, and the authority of the priesthood, the power of godliness is not manifest unto men in the flesh; For without this no man can see the face of God, even the Father, and live.

Now this Moses plainly taught to the children of Israel in the wilderness, and sought diligently to sanctify his people that they might behold the face of God; But they hardened their hearts and could not endure his presence; therefore, the Lord in his wrath, for his anger was kindled against them, swore that they should not enter into his rest while in the wilderness, which rest is the fulness of his glory.

Therefore, he took Moses out of their midst, and the Holy Priesthood also; And the lesser priesthood continued, which priesthood holdeth the key of the ministering of angels and the preparatory gospel; Which gospel is the gospel of repentance and of baptism, and the remission of sins, and the law of carnal commandments, which the Lord in his wrath caused to continue with the house of Aaron among the children of Israel until John, whom God raised up, being filled with the Holy Ghost from his mother's womb. For he was baptized while he was yet in his childhood, and was ordained by the angel of God at the time he was eight days old unto this power, to overthrow the kingdom of the Jews, and to make straight the way of the Lord before the face of his people, to prepare them for the coming of the Lord, in whose hand is given all power.

(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 84:20 - 28)

They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me. For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.

Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.

(Old Testament | Hosea 7:6 - 8)

Therefore, if you are feeling a little lukewarm or even cold, but are still worthy of  a temple recommend, get closer to power even if it wretches your soul until you feel no more pain as you get once again lit up in celestial burnings.  And when you are lit up in the omnipresent fire of God again, I promise you more commandments, revelations or instruction NOT FEW will come from God to him to keep you busy, persevering in good works or in a good cause until the kigdom comes. Then the LORD will send you to missions where he cannot go or where no man has gone before; and as I you will bear witness that even hell feels frozen cold.

BEHOLD, blessed, saith the Lord, are they who have come up unto this land with an eye single to my glory, according to my commandments. For those that live shall inherit the earth, and those that die shall rest from all their labors, and their works shall follow them; and they shall receive a crown in the mansions of my Father, which I have prepared for them.

Yea, blessed are they whose feet stand upon the land of Zion, who have obeyed my gospel; for they shall receive for their reward the good things of the earth, and it shall bring forth in its strength.

And they shall also be crowned with blessings from above, yea, and with commandments not a few, and with revelations in their time—they that are faithful and diligent before me.

Wherefore, I give unto them a commandment, saying thus: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy might, mind, and strength; and in the name of Jesus Christ thou shalt serve him. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.  Thou shalt not steal; neither commit adultery, nor kill, nor do anything like unto it. Thou shalt thank the Lord thy God in all things. Thou shalt offer a sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in righteousness, even that of a broken heart and a contrite spirit.  And that thou mayest more fully keep thyself unspotted from the world, thou shalt go to the house of prayer and offer up thy sacraments upon my holy day.

For verily this is a day appointed unto you to rest from your labors, and to pay thy devotions unto the Most High;  Nevertheless thy vows shall be offered up in righteousness on all days and at all times; But remember that on this, the Lord's day, thou shalt offer thine oblations and thy sacraments unto the Most High, confessing thy sins unto thy brethren, and before the Lord. And on this day thou shalt do none other thing, only let thy food be prepared with singleness of heart that thy fasting may be perfect, or, in other words, that thy joy may be full. Verily, this is fasting and prayer, or in other words, rejoicing and prayer.

(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 59:1 - 14)

Now, I went in the spirit to the land of fire or the Patagonia to a lower hell or spiritual prison a few days ago to visit a very dear friend of mine who is from Argentina, where there is a church and the gospel is now being preached to them who did not have a chance to hear it in mortality as we now do. My friend is a very prominent and feared lawyer and/or prosecutor by profession. But my friend also has a humble job in the market and the kitchens of the Bishop’s Store House.  I know this because I have been there twice this year. And the place feels frozen cold. I suspect they cook meat and eat dinosaur flesh for I saw there a big bone with fresh flesh hanging from it. I only thought that my dog would have an eternal feast chewing one of those bones. In this one occasion, I went to help my friend to get some meat for the kitchen or the market from a big freezer; and I was given a single or a half rib that was at least twice as tall as I am. The bone was fresh and it had some red meat in it. But I was so hot in the spirit or the Holy Ghost was behind me, that my deceased friend fled suddnely, in an instant from my presence; and the bone roasted pretty well done in my very own presence or when I had handled it, even instantly. Only then I woke up thinking about the bone.  I must have been fired or full of the Holy Ghost as Nephi was when he got mad at his brothers for refusing to help him to build a ship. Here is the law and the testimony:

And now it came to pass that when I had spoken these words they were angry with me, and were desirous to throw me into the depths of the sea; and as they came forth to lay their hands upon me I spake unto them, saying:

In the name of the Almighty God, I command you that ye touch me not, for I am filled with the power of God, even unto the consuming of my flesh; and whoso shall lay his hands upon me shall wither even as a dried reed; and he shall be as naught before the power of God, for God shall smite him.

And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto them that they should murmur no more against their father; neither should they withhold their labor from me, for God had commanded me that I should build a ship. And I said unto them: If God had commanded me to do all things I could do them.  If he should command me that I should say unto this water, be thou earth, it should be earth; and if I should say it, it would be done. And now, if the Lord has such great power, and has wrought so many miracles among the children of men, how is it that he cannot instruct me, that I should build a ship?

(Book of Mormon | 1 Nephi 17:48 - 51)

Now, what I am saying with many words the LORD is also saying to us when we get complaisant thinking that we made it, yet in fewer words, yet in an encoded yet precious language.

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

(New Testament | Revelation 3:17 - 22)

For verily, verily, I say unto you that ye are called to lift up your voices as with the sound of a trump, to declare my gospel unto a crooked and perverse generation. For behold, the field is white already to harvest; and it is the eleventh hour, and the last time that I shall call laborers into my vineyard. And my vineyard has become corrupted every whit; and there is none which doeth good save it be a few; and they err in many instances because of priestcrafts, all having corrupt minds. And verily, verily, I say unto you, that this church have I established and called forth out of the wilderness. And even so will I gather mine elect from the four quarters of the earth, even as many as will believe in me, and hearken unto my voice.

Yea, verily, verily, I say unto you, that the field is white already to harvest; wherefore, thrust in your sickles, and reap with all your might, mind, and strength.Open your mouths and they shall be filled, and you shall become even as Nephi of old, who journeyed from Jerusalem in the wilderness. Yea, open your mouths and spare not, and you shall be laden with sheaves upon your backs, for lo, I am with you. Yea, open your mouths and they shall be filled, saying: Repent, repent, and prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand;  Yea, repent and be baptized, every one of you, for a remission of your sins; yea, be baptized even by water, and then cometh the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost.

Behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, this is my gospel; and remember that they shall have faith in me or they can in nowise be saved; And upon this rock I will build my church; yea, upon this rock ye are built, and if ye continue, the gates of hell shall not prevail against you.And ye shall remember the church articles and covenants to keep them. And whoso having faith you shall confirm in my church, by the laying on of the hands, and I will bestow the gift of the Holy Ghost upon them. And the Book of Mormon and the holy scriptures are given of me for your instruction; and the power of my Spirit quickeneth all things. Wherefore, be faithful, praying always, having your lamps trimmed and burning, and oil with you, that you may be ready at the coming of the Bridegroom For behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, that I come quickly.  Even so.  Amen.

(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 33:2 - 18)

Now, the truth cannot be plainer; therefore, gird up your loins, lest the LORD or the groom finds us seating on our lees thinking that he would save us in our sins and not from our sins. The laborers of the vineyard are indeed few and the field is white already to harvest. Only filled or fired up with the Holy Ghost we can administer the gospel with fiery salt as the LORD and his true apostles and prophets did. And, if we are prepared in all things with the robes of rightesouness, we will not fear. There is no point in having a shining armour and a sharp sword in hand if we do not intend to use it to overcome error and evilness.

Therefore, in my anxietly for the eternal welfare of your souls, I exhort you and admonish you wiht all the strenght of my soul to forsake the world, to enhance your spiritual gifts and preach liberty to the captives and the dead in this world and/or on the other side of the veil. Or else, will the LORD find faith in the earth when he comes? This is why he commaded us to alway pray and not faint.

AND he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint

(New Testament | Luke 18:1)

Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

(New Testament | Luke 18:8)

Many of our brethren are suffering, bleeding and perishing in ignorance, not even knowing who their enemy is. This is why I am here, to lift you up and to awake you from the slumber. We need to be continually engaged in a good cause without being compelled to do so. My works go before and after my actions. In other words, I sepak both by precept and by experience. And if you do likewise blessed are you, for the LOrd is seeking not only hearers but doers of the word. And if not, prepare then, for I have also heard a great consummation decreed upon the whole earth. And the righteous shall barely escape. Here is the word of the LORD concerning this burden to the Prophet Zephaniah:

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills. Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.

And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.

Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.

The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers. And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

(Old Testament | Zephaniah 1:10 - 18)

What the Lord says to one he says unto all.

These things I say humbly and meekly before God and with proper authority in the Sacred name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Attentively Yours from an unworthy servant in the hands of Christ

  1. And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.

And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod. And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

  2. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

    (New Testament | Luke 14:34 - 35)

Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

    (New Testament | Mark 9:50)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, I give unto you to be the salt of the earth; but if the salt shall lose its savor wherewith shall the earth be salted? The salt shall be thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot of men. Verily, verily, I say unto you, I give unto you to be the light of this people. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Behold, do men light a candle and put it under a bushel? Nay, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light to all that are in the house; Therefore let your light so shine before this people, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
